I'm working to make sure everyone has space reserved for tents. Based on the camp location this year, I expect that I will need to purchase full festival permits for all these spaces to guarantee them.
At $7/day for 10 days, you can see that it adds up. All spaces requested will have permits purchased prior to landrush and held for the duration. Please understand your obligation if requesting tent space.
Use the comment section of this post to clarify or correct any requests that I should be aware of.
11 days until landrush !!

Jason, do the weekend tickets include camping, or is that separate? Realize that even if it's included, you'll still need to pay for the days prior to official opening. I'll send you a check for Trun and myself, and will check with the other two I know who might want space.
ReplyDeleteI've added the camp rules from the website below. Based on these, you must also purchase permits ($7) to camp, regardless of how many days your tickets are for. If people are willing to risk it, they can purchase permits when they arrive. I don't know how fast the area will fill up. I can provide updates online the first day, and if things look real slow, I'll wait to buy permits until needed. But if the area fills up fast, I'm gonna buy permits first thing.
ReplyDeleteOnly Full-Festival ticket holders will be allowed on Festival grounds prior to Thursday, September 17, 2009.
Festival grounds will open to Full-Festival ticket holders for camping on Thursday, September 10th, 2009 at 7:00 a.m..
2-day ticket holders may camp on grounds beginning 12:01 a.m. on the first day of their ticket.
Single day ticket holders may park in day parking, but may not camp.
The camping fee for all festival campgrounds (including Pecan Grove) is $7 per day per vehicle or $12 per day with electric hookup (over 800 hookups available).
Fees include one camping permit per vehicle. Extra permits are $7 each per day and are not payable in advance.
Campsites and hookups available on first come basis.
Full camping fees must be paid for ALL nights on grounds.
No spaces may be saved that have not already been paid for and have a camping sticker on them (tarps, tents, trailers, roped areas, etc.).
Ok, got it. I'll send you a check for the full time, and let you do whatever looks prudent to save space. What's your snail mail addy, and will you get it soon enough if I mail it? But wait, you could just take it out of the $500 you owe me..... ;o)
ReplyDeleteNo worries about money until we meet. As close as we are to the festival, I'll collect at Winfield.
ReplyDeleteI have just sent email out to the people who asked me about camping with us. Will let you know today sometime.

After re-reading the original post, I realize it doesn't come across pleasantly. I don't want it to serve as a deterent for anyone wishing to camp with us. I would like us to have a huge camp with as many people as possible. I only want to be clear that I will take any request seriously and I will have spaces ready for anyone joining in.
ReplyDeleteSo far, only the guy has responded. He says he will arrive on the 14th. And thanks you for being the coordinator!!
ReplyDeleteI'm curious - the rules say one camping permit per car. Does that mean if you drive in with 6 people in your car, with 6 tents (conserving gas & real estate) that you only get 1 permit???
-gd (having trouble logging in with my new office PC. blech. I'm a Mac)
shit - my wv is UNDSORT. who sorts their undies anyway???
Barry, who's rolling in late Thurs (of the last wkend) on his treck from VA to CO, is hoping to set up a tent also. Will be another very small one.
